This website is a not-for-profit project developed to present information about the life and works of Pipe Major George Stewart McLennan to an online audience. It was conceived as a natural follow-up to the successful exhibition of his life, "Tunes From a Silent Chanter" held in Wick/Glasgow in 2010/2011, bringing more about GS to a wider audience.
We have provided a biography of GS McLennan which is designed to be a different approach from that already to be found online. Of the latter, we recommend those to be found within pipetunes.ca and projects.handsupfortrad.scot/hall-of-fame.
Most images displayed are taken from the McLennan family archive and as such there is an implicit copyright regarding anything not currently in the public domain. We would ask you to respect this and the rights of other parties who have provided images or information.
